The server part confused me. I thought he meant my computer specs.
when people offer a site for free and people still bitch about it lol
You are correct that is not at all what I was looking for.
I was mainly requesting their current info so I can provide potentially cheaper and better solutions.
I am a network engineer, within that field I work on Cloud solutions under the data center umbrella. I probably could have a few suggestions.
how about everyone does a cake sale and we collectively invest all the profits into mkb
Almost a month later and this site is still slow af. Is there a recommended browser to use when browsing this site? I use Chrome for what it's worth.
It's fine for me. Prob your net.
Works fine for me with Chrome.
So if I'm seeing this (see image below), does that mean it's my net? I got this before and I just got it about an hour ago.
Also, this is the most recent speed test I did. With Ookla's new beta design, I can't seem to find out how fast or slow I am compared to the rest of America percentage-wise.
With that speed test, your net is slow with the low download and upload speed along with the high ping. You'd be hella laggy. Figures why MKBoards is slow on your Chrome.
yeah your connection is pretty bad, because of the high ping.
Couldve posted that a bit earlier
what server are you managing to connect to that gives you 600ping, connecting my net to america from england is an average of around 130-150 so i have no idea how you've managed that
To put how bad your ping is into perspective.
My ping, from Ireland to New Zealand (which is a 29 hour flight away) is over double what yours is. So no the site is not too slow.
Bad net. That's likely the problem unfortunately. That provider is slower than molasses from my experience with them in times past. Their so-called "high-speed" just isn't.
Well the more we donate the more money these guys get there not gonna help to fix it how many years did it take for mobile users to get an amazing looking introduction and u get led to the forum and ur like wow it's like spending all ur money on a car instead of a house.
ya, 600 ping would do it sadly.
Going to be honest with you. I saw earlier you said you got Hughes net, and my heart literally sank as low as it could go. My family used to have Hughes net back in 2013 and it was unbelievably, insanely trash. I'm assuming it's satellite and satellite in 2017... The latency is awful because it's not ground connection. Hence that's why the ping is so high. There is no way to fix this and you probably won't be able to play mkw online or get fast speed in anyway (if you haven't started getting massive slow downs in internet prepare yourself). My advice would be to try and find a better provider since from personal experience Hughes net is actually the worst. So yeah, if you're gonna plan on gaming or watching videos then that sucks because it seems like Hughes was built for people who are on the internet like 1 hour a day 5 days out of the week.
this site is pretty slow, even with like a $600 new department store pc from 2016
i mean it shouldnt be that slow on soemthing like that, as mediocre as it is
but its kinda slow
The site loads just fine for me even on my 9 year old PC. Loading times for a site of this caliber is determined by traffic volume to the site at the time of loading and your connection speed to the server, not hardware of the device trying to access to the site.
Oh great, it's nice to know that now of all times. Problem is, we had CenturyLink and their service was god awful for us. A change had to be made, but HughesNet was the only option due to our location in the city. We live in the country next to some highway and the city doesn't want to install cables past the highway. Technically, we're just barely outside the city limits. I don't know if that has anything to do with the fact that we can't get a better provider, but that's my current internet situation.
The big problem is that most other websites load just fine. It has me wondering if it really is an internet problem. A part of me thinks that users using animated avatars and gifs in signatures is causing the slowdown on my end. Maybe that's just my paranoid side speaking, lol.
